Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 26 August 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using PDFMadeSimple. By accessing or using our website or tools, you agree to be bound by these terms in their entirety. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.

1. About Us

PDFMadeSimple ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at pdfmadesimple.com and provides online PDF conversion and editing tools. Our support email address is support@pdfmadesimple.com.

2. Electronic Communications

By using the Service, you consent to receiving all communications from us in electronic form, including notices regarding your subscription, billing, legal disclosures, and updates to these Terms. You agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

3. Our Services

PDFMadeSimple provides online tools to convert, merge, compress, split, rotate, watermark and sign PDF documents. Files are processed in the cloud and deleted from our servers within 24 hours of conversion. We do not store, read or share your files beyond what is necessary to perform the requested operation.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or free from interruptions, delays or errors. We reserve the right to impose limits on file size, number of operations, or processing capacity at our discretion.

4. Eligibility

You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age, or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

5. Paid Trial and Subscription

Access to download converted files requires payment. We offer an introductory trial period followed by a recurring monthly subscription. The applicable fees are displayed at the time of checkout and are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

The trial is not free of charge. By initiating a trial, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • the trial is a paid, limited-duration introductory offer requiring payment of a reduced fee;
  • the trial will automatically convert into a full recurring subscription upon expiry of the trial period unless you cancel before that date;
  • you expressly authorise us to charge your selected payment method for the applicable subscription fee immediately upon expiry of the trial, and on a recurring monthly basis thereafter;
  • your payment authorisation remains valid for all future billing cycles until the subscription is cancelled;
  • recurring charges will be applied automatically without requiring further action from you;
  • we are not obligated to send reminders, notifications or warnings before the trial ends or before any renewal charge is applied — it is solely your responsibility to cancel before the trial expires if you do not wish to continue;
  • failure to cancel before the trial ends will result in automatic conversion to a paid subscription and the corresponding charges will apply without further notice.

Pricing is displayed in your local currency at checkout. If a payment cannot be processed, we reserve the right to retry the charge, suspend access to the Service, or terminate your subscription.

Your email address is your identity on this Service. There are no customer accounts or passwords. Your active subscription is recognised by the email address associated with your payment. When you use the Service, you will be asked to provide this email address. It is your responsibility to enter the same email address used when you subscribed. PDFMadeSimple cannot be held responsible if you enter a different email address and are not recognised as an active subscriber.

Payments are processed by our payment provider. Your payment details are stored securely by the payment processor and are not held by PDFMadeSimple.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time by visiting our cancellation page or by emailing support@pdfmadesimple.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to the Service until that date. Cancellation prevents future billing only and does not entitle you to a refund of any charges already incurred.

7. Refunds

Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, all payments are final and non-refundable, including where a trial has expired without cancellation or where a subscription has renewed without cancellation prior to the renewal date. We may, at our sole discretion, issue refunds in exceptional circumstances such as duplicate transactions or verified technical failures preventing access to the Service. Any such refund is a gesture of goodwill and does not create an obligation to provide refunds in future.

8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card provider, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your access to the Service. We further reserve the right to present evidence to your card provider or bank to contest any chargeback, including records of your acceptance of these Terms, timestamps of file conversions performed, and confirmation of any downloads made. Repeated or abusive use of chargebacks may result in permanent exclusion from the Service.

9. Consumer Rights — UK and EU Users

If you are a consumer residing in the United Kingdom or European Union, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason.

However, by purchasing, activating or using the Service, you expressly request immediate access to and performance of the digital service. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • the Service is provided as digital content or digital services supplied immediately after purchase;
  • performance of the Service begins immediately upon your request;
  • once the Service has begun to be performed or has been fully performed, you lose your right of withdrawal in accordance with applicable laws governing digital content and digital services.

To exercise your right of withdrawal before the Service has been performed, notify us by email at support@pdfmadesimple.com using the subject line "Exercise of Right of Withdrawal" and including your name, the email address used at purchase, the date of your order, and the date of withdrawal. Nothing in this section limits any mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PDFMadeSimple only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • upload files that you do not have the right to process or share;
  • upload files containing malware, viruses or malicious code;

  • use automated tools, bots or scripts to make excessive requests to the Service;
  • use the Service in a manner that places an unreasonable burden on our infrastructure or negatively impacts other users;
  • use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent or harmful purpose.

11. Intellectual Property

The PDFMadeSimple website, including its design, code, text and branding, is our intellectual property. You retain full ownership of any files you upload. We claim no rights to your documents. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive licence to use our tools for personal or business use in accordance with these Terms.

12. User Content

By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process, transmit and temporarily store your uploaded content solely for the purpose of providing the requested conversion or operation. This licence ends when your files are deleted from our servers.

13. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers including cloud processing and payment processors. We are not responsible for the performance, availability or policies of such third parties.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

PDFMadeSimple is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that our tools will be error-free, uninterrupted, or produce results of any particular quality. Conversion accuracy depends on the quality and format of the uploaded file.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFMadeSimple shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless PDFMadeSimple and its operators from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

17. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, failures of infrastructure, or disruptions to third-party services.

18. Assignment

We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction. You may not assign or transfer your rights without our prior written consent.

19. Privacy

Your use of PDFMadeSimple is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in law, regulation or our business practices. Updated Terms will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

21. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

22. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PDFMadeSimple regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

24. Contact
